Rome is home to some of the best views in the world. However, it can be quite overwhelming deciding which ones to visit when you have limited time. This article is going to narrow down the top 5 instagrammable and tik tok-able sights that you should plan to see in Rome to elevate your feed.

The must sees in Rome are:

  2. Villa Borghese
  3. Trevi Fountain
  4. Minerva Roof Garden
  5. Saint Peter’s Square

Colosseum:

To see the inside of the colosseum, you’ll need a ticket (and I highly recommend a tour). But for this photo that you see here, just walk to one side of the colosseum and start snapping some photos. So if you want to just take photos, then it’s free.

Villa Borghese:

The gardens of this beautiful villa are free and you can make loads of content here. Perhaps a picnic or you just walking through the gardens. I do recommend buying the ticket to go inside because the paintings and frescoes are very beautiful. I didn’t spend over an hour in the Villa so for gardens and Villa combined I would allot at least 2 hours.

Trevi Fountain:

This fountain is by far the most popular and at first glance you might think you’ll never make it to the front of the statue but the crowds shifts very quickly. So it shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes for you to get to the front to toss a coin in (right hand over left shoulder) and take some instagram photos. This will take no more than 10 minutes.

Minerva Roof Garden:

No trip to Rome is complete without a rooftop Aperitivo (pre dinner cocktails), lunch, or dinner. There are many rooftops to choose from but this one boasts over 16 types of cocktails which is bound to elevate your feed. Dress to impress and go to this rooftop bar to show off your new outfit and artistically crafted drink.

Saint Peter’s Square:

The Vatican Museum does have an entrance fee and I took a tour through the museum but honestly I didn’t think it was worth it as tours cannot even go into the Sistine Chapel. So I’d recommend going to Saint Peter’s Square as it is free (you just have to show your super green pass or proof of vaccination). Take in the views and get some photos and make a tiktok exploring the St. Peter’s Basilica and the square. Then get a museum ticket so that you can see the Sistine chapel. Photography is not allowed here but it’s great to see once in your lifetime though it personally wasn’t very engaging for me. I would set aside a day for this or a half day if you move through museums quickly.
