Where should you go this summer? There are plenty of beautiful cities all around the world you could visit, but there is one city that truly stands alone: Rome. Reason 1: The History
Is there any place in the world more historic than the beautiful city of Rome? Rome’s most famous historical landmark is one of the Wonders of the World: the Colosseum. These famous historical sites leave each visitor feeling like they are one with the ancient Romans that walked the same streets over 2000 years ago.
Reason 2: The Art
For hundreds of years, the world’s best artists have come to Rome seeking inspiration from those that came before them. Ancient Romans discovered a deep appreciation for art and created a beautiful city full of marble sculptures for its citizens to admire. Reason 3: The Religion
Built on the tomb of Saint Peter you will find St. Peter’s Basilica located in the center of Vatican City. Vatican City is one of the holiest places in the world for Christians. Located in the Prati neighborhood of Rome, Vatican City is an excellent, and arguably must-see, day trip for visitors. The Basilica offers beautiful views and incredible works of art. The Pope will often speak on Sundays here as well. If any of these once-in-a-lifetime experiences interest you, then Rome is the place to be.
Reason 4: The Food
When people think of Rome one of the first things that come to mind is the delicious food. Pizza, pasta, and so much more. Come to Rome to try traditional square Roman-style pizza from a local pizzeria. Check out Rome’s famous pasta dishes like Cacio e Pepe, Carbonara, or Amatriciana. After devouring a delicious meal, grab some gelato and wine and walk the streets to digest your meal. There is a reason Rome is home to one 3 Michelin Star restaurants, one 2 Michelin star restaurants, and 14 one Michelin Star restaurants. After one Roman meal, you will be hooked!
